Highway Sixteen

What was highway sixteen about? High Sixeen was an odd somewhat boring story to me. In this short story the author told about his young childhood neighborhood. Due to the story was so long I so totally unable to complete reading the story.

But from the parts that i read it seems as if the boy is living in a figurtive of his on imgination. Maybe it was just a little bit of exggeration but for the most part truth. Or maybe than again I could be wrong.

Self Respect

Self respect is vital to having a healthy life. I believe that many people have no respect for themselves today. Which is so important to grow and mole yourself into a successful emotionally stable being. Alot of problems in today's society start simply from people not having self respect, because if they did they wouldn't do the things that they do or consider themselves a lot of things that they do without having any knowledge of what they are calling each other without knowing the history or meaning of words.
In order to have a healthy mind, body, and soul you need to take the time out to give your body the respect that it needs and deserve. The body is a temple which needs time out to be exercised. Not just physically but intellectually which helps to put a person on the right path for self respect. I think if more indulge in respecting themselves then the world would be a happier place and would start respecting others.

Pangea Day

What is Pangea Day, is it necessary? Pangea Day is an new event where as the whole world comes together through film. Prehaps this is neccesary maybe its not? To me this whole world is divided not just communities or contients. I feel as if someone wants to put towards an effort to try an bring together unity I support that.
If people enjoy all of the programs it might countie and be effective in the world. It should have a powerful effect on the world and people in a sense bringing them together in unity. If this conutines it should send out a powerful message.

Being In The Box

What is discrimination to start with? Discrimination is being prejudice towards someone or something maybe because of their race, sex, sexuality, or so much more. The lesson being in the box was to me highly the reason why people in toady's society and past have dealt with racism. This being because of the lack of courage for one to stand up for the right thing and getting pressured by others not wanting to be portrayed as an outcast.
In my life I have had to take witness to such things and to me I am applauded by how ignorant someone can be for no reason. Like in the movie Crash it showed how it is still happening and people still have to deal with it. And even as people say the U.S has come a long way over the last thirty to forty years it stills exist but has just in some cases evolved into something different and hidden until people let this hatred erupt. Which saddens me to know that before I die I will have to deal with more of it and take witness to this.

What is Ted and what does it stand for? TED stands for technology, entertainment, design. It begn as a conference in 1984 and expaned into something greater. It supplies free knowledge to whom ever by putting together a conference giving 18 minutes to some of the worlds most brillant thinkers and doers and posting on the TED website

Someone to Talk to

There are many people I would like to talk to. For example my grandmother Betty and Common. However if I could talk to God. In this essay I am going to disscuse the people that I would like to talk to.

First I would like to talk to my grandmother Betty Booth. Over my childhood I didn't have that much time to spend with her until around the time she died. She was a very intelligent woman who went through alot of obstacles but over came them all. I just wish that I had the oppunotunity to speak with her again because I felt I could have learn't so much from her and gained alot from her knowledge to help me in life.

Next would be Common. To me Common is more then an artist he is a leader. He gives off this vibe in which makes you feel free through his music. Well at the same time he expresses his knowledge in such an intelligent way by injemating it to the listener. The way he can express hisself in such a soulful way inspires me. Then him being a young black male doing what he does in such a manner in which he does inspires me to want to talk to him.

Last but not least would be God. God to me comes before anything in this world. He knows all and know what is to come so I would love to talk to God. I mean when having such love for him makes you want to be closer to him to learn and to feed off of his energy. With me knowing that he is always there and that when I pray he heres my prays I do talk with him.

These are the people that I would like to talk to. They all are different from each other but would me alot for me to speak to. From my grandmother Betty from Common to God for me I will get my chance to speak with them some a first and for others again.

Kenyan Clashes

Over the last several of months in Kenya, there has been turmoil going on over the preisdiental election. In this ordeal many of people have been murdered and also many rallies have been created. There has been allegations of alleged sanctions going on with the Mungiki and the Kikuyu. This has been said to been taking place in the residients of the Kikuyu government State House.
But when questioned by one of BBC reporters one of the spokemans repleyed by saying that the allegations that has been allegated is "preposterous". This has caused voilence thourgh out this area as the parliaments began to setup. One says that he saw over twelve matatus which are like taxis come arm into the Kikuyu villiage.

My Thoughts On Global Warming

What do I think about global warming? I think that this isn't just fiction and that this can potinentially accure in the further. I have a little knowledge about the matter and I think that if we don't take care of our atmoshpere and let all of the heat get trapped on Earth that we are going to have some major issues with tring to correct this matter. We as people should take this seriously because it doesn't take that much to help prevent anymore damage rather than tring to go back to fix what has already been done.
Global warming is a very controversal issue that has caused many debutes and has challenaged many people oppinions. But as far as what I think about the issue and from what I have read I can't really stand soild on what I have said but from the little I have learnt these are my thoughts.

Liberial or Conservative

Im I a liberial or conservative? To me I'm not quit sure what I am. I mean I have at the same time beliefs of both. But if I really just look at the situation and all of the thinks that has been going on with the liberials it makes me a conservative. If I look at what has happened with Bush I beleive that his beliefs are very much different from mines.
With me not liking war unless it is the last alterative I feel as if I mean a So in other words I am a democrate. Often I feel as if people think it is all about sides and wheather your a not about what you stand for. This is why I feel the way that I feel./

New Year New Resoultions

What are my New Year resoutions? This year I am working on me completely. By this I mean mind, body, and soul. These things are vitally important to ,because as as young woman it shapes you for life. Over the last year I have been working on it but not completely focused on myself. I want to take away all of the negative people in my life and make the negative experiences positive. By this learning my mistakes so I won't repeat the past.
